The history of El Minja's started in 1975. My first meeting with the Lhasa Apso breed was on a trip to England, visiting the famous Crufts Dog show at Earls Court. I fell immediately in love with the Lhasa Apso and knew I will have this breed in my live. I have shows the Lhasa Apso dogs at Crufts in 89 Earls Court Hall his name was Lingstoc Bruf. I have been waiting till I was in the Netherlands and search for Topquality kennels. The temperament of the Lhasa Apso and nobility of the Lhasa Apso is liked the Afghans. I always say, Lhasa Apsos are little Afghans! The dogshows I like a lot and especially the excitement and the entertainment of showing the Lhasa Apso as a dog breed. My points of great importance: the type, Oriëntal expression, head, sound movement, soundness in conformation overall and good density of coat. My husband Frank likes the puppies very much and they all love him. The puppies always plays with him. The puppies knows him very well, even when they are gone. In 1985 my first Lhasa Apso arrived, two females, Nykita and Madonna. Later Ch. Lingstoc Midas I purchased in England. Madonna became my basic brood bitch, the foundation of my kennel for many years. My Lhasa Apso bloodlines are based on two lines and they go back to the so called Hamilton bloodlines, the EL Minja's Lhasa Apso dogs are found in numerous kennels world wide. Breeding this wonderful dogs is my passion, I am proud to have been breeding so beautiful dogs and many Champions. My Lhasa Apsos are all over the world and been exhibit in many countries, with succes. Many breeders have my dogs in their breeding program and most of them are succesfully. The name Lhasa was derived from a sacred
city in Tibet. It is said that this breed guarded the monasteries 2,000 years
ago. It was even believed that the Lhasas were reincarnations of their masters,
the Dalai Lamas. This breed was introduced in Britain in the 1920s and in the US
in the 1930s as a gift to visiting foreign diplomats. The Lhasa Apso is
considered a sacred breed and a useful watchdog.
